Individual Therapy

Individual Catholic Therapy

In therapy, you work with your therapist to address your unique problems. In Catholic therapy, the therapist works from a Catholic framework, understanding and respecting the importance of your faith.

We use only evidence-based treatments, meaning those methods shown by research to be the most effective. These therapy methods tend to be focused on finding solutions to your present problems, so you get results faster.

Common issues we treat include:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety, Stress & Worry

  • Panic Attacks

  • Scrupulosity (distressing guilt over issues of sin)

  • Relationship Problems (with friends, family, and romantic partners)

  • Self-harm (such as cutting) and Suicidality (thoughts, threats, or attempts)

  • Impulsivity

  • Anger Issues

Family & Couples Therapy

Catholic Family Therapy

For couples therapy, we treat both committed couples facing relationship difficulties, and persons seeking marriage preparation. We offer Catholic couples therapy, with a Catholic understanding of marriage, family, and love. Contact us today to learn how our Catholic counselors can help you make your relationship stronger, or start if off on the right foot.

For family therapy, we will work with you to determine the best parties to include in treatment. Often, issues affect the whole family, and it can be very helpful to include multiple family members. This could include a larger group seeing one therapist, who mediates a group discussion. Or, it may include a teen sees one therapist for treatment, while one or both parents see a different therapist for parent coaching. Our Catholic therapists are flexible, and able to meet the needs of you family.

Substance Abuse and Addiction Treatment

Substance Abuse & Addiction Treatment

We are experienced in working with adults and teens struggling with addiction to or abuse of drugs and alcohol. We also treat behavioral addictions, such as pornography addiction and gambling. Sometimes, Catholic clients also struggle with issues of guilt related to their addictions which other counselors may not understand. At Denver Catholic Counseling, we are able to offer substance abuse counseling from a unique Catholic perspective, so we can treat your addiction while also treating the whole person.
